South Yorkshire GPNA Monthly Update Launch: Training Guidance for Safe Practice
Join us for the launch of the South Yorkshire General Practice Nursing Associate (GPNA) Network – a new monthly webinar series designed to support Nursing Associates working in primary care across the region. Taking place on the first Wednesday of each month, this network provides a dedicated space to access relevant updates and strengthen your role in practice.
This first session will introduce a newly developed GPNA Training Guide, created in direct response to feedback from Nursing Associates – many of whom have engaged with local preceptorship programmes – who identified a need for clearer, more consistent guidance around the training required to undertake clinical tasks safely in general practice.
During the session, we will:
- Outline key principles of safe practice, including supervision and delegation
- Explore recommended training and competency expectations across a range of core clinical activities
- Highlight how the guide can support consistency, confidence, and safe patient care
- Clarify how this resource can be used within your own practice and ongoing development
This session marks the beginning of a regular programme of short, focused updates tailored to the needs of GPNAs across South Yorkshire, supporting role development and helping ensure Nursing Associates feel confident, supported, and well-informed in their day-to-day practice.
Meeting Frequency: First Wednesday of every month
