Contraception Update - with particular focus on the new POP Slynd
Details: Join us for a primary care contraception update – We will cover the UKMEC guidelines for contraception, including updates on coil licensing, the new POP, Slynd and recommended changes to the pill free interval. The session will include a deeper dive into the affects of different progesterone and oestrogens on the body, side effects and ways we can help minimise these and help women find the right one for them.
Speaker: Carmel McCarthy RGN – With over 25 year’s experience in Primary Care, Carmel developed a special interest in women’s health and is the Contraception & Sexual Health Lead Nurse with the University of Nottingham Health Service, the largest single site General Practice in the UK. Carmel is a Diplomate member of the FSRH, a Faculty Registered Trainer with Letters of Competence in intrauterine contraception and subdermal implant fitting/removal and a non-medical prescriber. She is a member of the Primary Care Women’s Health Forum education committee and Director of Macey SRH Ltd, a platform which provides SRH training and clinical guidance.
