Join Dr Sona Matthai, consultant paediatrician, and Saliha Hamroun, Specialist nurse for a session on recognising and managing constipation in children and young teenagers.
This session will look at when to suspect constipation, and how to manage it effectively in primary care, including educational resources for parents. We will also look at when it is appropriate to refer to specialist services and common pitfalls in referrals to secondary care.
This session will run as 45 mins of teaching with 15 mins Q+A at the end. It is suitable for all primary care and community clinicians who see children –ACP’s, Practice nurses (including student nurses on placement in primary care), health visitors, AHP’s, GP ‘s (including trainees and medical students currently on placement in primary care) and PA’s.
