Course information
This is a face-to-face session and will be delivered by Rotherham NHD Foundation Trust Ear Care & Audiology Service
The Ear irrigation & Instrumentation course is a one day course.
It is a well-established and well respected course underpinned by comprehensive protocols which are recognised and recited in the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE)
It is taught by experienced practitioners who continue to provide this procedure on a daily basis.
This course covers a wide range of theoretical knowledge including:
- An understanding of the Anatomy and physiology of the ear
- Common ear pathologies including, identifying red flags that necessitate specialist care
- Patient assessment
- Ear examination in accordance to otoscopy guidance
- Ethics & Principles of Ear Irrigation and Instrumentation
- Identify, discuss and use the appropriate equipment required to carry out safe irrigation & Instrumentation.
- Gain confidence & skills whilst under supervision of one of our experienced specialist practitioners.
- Discuss infection control measures to ensure safe practice
