Course information

This course is suitable for any healthcare professional working in primary care / community settings, who is involved in the care of patients with bronchiectasis.

The course covers epidemiology, pathophysiology, diagnosis, treatment options, self management strategies, and exacerbations management.

The course has been designed by an experienced respiratory nurse who strives to improve the quality of life of patients living with a respiratory disease.

Course content

By the end of this course, attendees will have an increased knowledge of:

  • Recognise the signs and symptoms of bronchiectasis
  • Understand how bronchiectasis is diagnosed
  • Appreciate the impact of living with bronchiectasis
  • Discuss the management of bronchiectasis, including the treatment of exacerbations
  • Explain self management strategies

The learning materials within the course are varied with the course being provided through an online platform.
There are several sections to the module which will cover the presentation, diagnosis and management of bronchiectasis, including the management of exacerbations.
