Paramedic

Paramedics are experienced autonomous allied health professionals. They are patient-focused and are responsible and capable of delivering safe, effective and appropriate treatment to patients with urgent, emergency and unscheduled healthcare needs.

Their focus includes the care of acutely ill and/or injured patients at initial presentation, and those who present with an acute exacerbation of a chronic illness or disease.

They are responsible for providing many patients with the most appropriate treatment at their first point of contact with a health professional.
