Course information

This 2-day, face to face training course will take place on 10th AND 12th September.

Delivered by Senior Nurse Educator Jane Emerson RN NMP and Nurse Educator Heather Jones RN, alongside the South Yorkshire Screening and Immunisation Team.

Course content

The training course has been developed inline with the ‘National Minimum Standards and Core Curriculum for Immunisation Training for Registered Healthcare Practitioners’.

It is aimed at Registered Nurses (RN) working in Primary Care with no prior knowledge of immunisations and is a complete initial course.
We will cover the 12 core knowledge areas for immunisation to embed essential skills and build confidence.
This will be delivered through an interactive learning style including scenario-based case studies, small group work and collaborative, competitive quizzes!
The session is closed with a discussion of the competency framework and how to move this new knowledge from the classroom to the consultation room.
It is expected that the RN will complete the online e-learning programme alongside this course and can update their learning annually via the same ‘e-learning for health’ module.

Course eligibility

This CPD course is for Practice Nurses and Allied Health Care Professionals. Please check here if you are eligible for these funded courses.

Please note: By applying for any of these training courses, you/your practice will not be able to also claim your £333 allocated CPD funding.
