Managing antibiotic prescribing in children
Following on from the TARGET AMS sessions, join Dr Caroline Kerrison (consultant paediatrician) as we consider the highest areas of antibiotic prescribing to children in primary care –and how making a robust assessment, treatment plan and safety netting advice enables parents / care-givers to have confidence in the shared management of their child’s illness – which may or may not include antibiotic prescribing. We will also be looking at tips to enable pill swallowing in children to reduce the environmental and economic burden of liquid preparations and improve compliance of treatment where taste is not a factor!
This session is suitable for all who see children in their clinical practice for ‘minor illness’ conditions including ACP’s, pharmacists, minor illness nurses, paramedics, PA’s and Dr’s in Training.
