The West Yorkshire Primary Care Workforce and Training Hub successfully hosted its Leadership & Clinical Conference on Wednesday, 18th June 2025, at the Village Hotel, Morley. The full-day event brought together a diverse mix of general practice nurses, nursing associates, non-registered healthcare staff, and clinical leaders from across the region for interactive learning, collaboration, and professional inspiration.
The conference, led by Catherine Gill and Wendy Iles, Educational Leads within West Yorkshire’s Primary Care Workforce & Training Hub, focused on key clinical advancements and leadership strategies aimed at supporting the evolving needs of today’s multidisciplinary healthcare teams. - Motivational Interviewing – Delivered by Sarah Atkinson, this session equipped clinicians with practical tools to support behaviour change through patient engagement.
- Menopause Update – Presented by Susan Wallis, who shared up-to-date clinical approaches and best practices in managing women’s health.
- Principles of Wellbeing – Led by Alan Molineaux, this session offered frameworks to sustain personal and professional wellbeing in leadership.
- Singing for Health – A unique session with Sophie Wallace, highlighting the therapeutic use of singing in respiratory care.
- Keynote speaker – An energising talk from Steve Judge, motivational speaker, and para-triathlete world champion, who inspired delegates with insights on resilience, self-leadership, and collaboration.
The “Parameters of Practice” workshop, led by Catherine Gill and Wendy Iles, emerged as one of the most valued sessions. Attendees appreciated its clarity around clinical boundaries and the use of real-world case studies to explore professional accountability.
