Introducing HNY Careers Hub

Shared on behalf of Humber and North Yorkshire ICB

I’m reaching out with some exciting news that I believe will benefit your students and contribute to their future career paths.

Recently two fantastic websites have launched to inspire individuals to explore fulfilling careers in health and care within the Humber and North Yorkshire (HNY) region.

The first is a refreshed version of HNY Careers Hub (www.hnycareershub.co.uk), it’s a fantastic resource catering to individuals of all ages and career stages. The platform is a one-stop-shop for everything related to health and care careers. It provides valuable insights into skills assessment, educational and training opportunities, job vacancies, and more. The aim is to strengthen recruitment and retention efforts across the area.

In addition to the HNY Careers Hub, one of our local NHS trusts, Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH), has introduced Med Shed (www.hull.nhs.uk/medshed). This site is specifically designed to introduce young people aged 11 to 16 to potential NHS careers in a fun and engaging manner. Featuring bright and bold visuals, animation, video career case studies, and an interactive NHS careers spinning wheel, Med Shed gives young individuals a firsthand look into the diverse opportunities available within the healthcare sector.

I encourage you to share this exciting information with your students, inspiring them to explore the various career prospects available. They can learn more about these opportunities by visiting the HNY Careers Hub at www.hnycareershub.co.uk and Med Shed at www.hull.nhs.uk/medshed.

Please may I also ask you to follow our HNY Careers Hub social media, we have created LinkedIn and Instagram accounts where we will be sharing career case studies, as well as top tips to help people in their career journey. If you have any content or ideas that you think may be of interest for the platforms, please do share with us.

Feel free to pass on this information to anyone who might find it beneficial.
