The South Yorkshire Primary Care Workforce & Training Hub has launched a new Lead Nurse Programme designed specifically for nurses who have recently stepped into a lead role within their practice.
The programme will be delivered by experienced Lead Nurses and is designed to be practical, relevant, interactive and engaging.
This six-month rolling programme will cover a range of key topics, including:
- Preparing for CQC inspections
- Managing difficult conversations
- HR matters
- QOF management
- Developing and reviewing protocols and policies
- Supporting and leading staff
Sessions will be held in person one Tuesday per month, from 9:00am–5:00pm (see below for dates). As well as structured learning, the programme will provide valuable peer support and the opportunity to build a local community of practice.

Day 4: Developing your leadership style and embedding a positive work culture
- Tuesday 11th August 2026 | 9am – 5pm
Day 5: Get Your Nursing Team CQC ready
- Tuesday 15th September 2026 | 9am – 5pm
Day 6: How Not to Burn Out Whilst Leading Authentically
- Tuesday 13th October 2026 | 9am – 5pm
