New NMC resource video - Understanding student supervision and assessment
Shared on behalf of the NMC
The NMC’s new four-minute animation Understanding student supervision and assessment sets out how our SSSA provide the structure and guidance that students need to learn and achieve their goals. It covers the roles of supervisors, academic assessors and practice assessors.
It also describes the importance of a positive and inclusive learning culture in both practice and simulated settings, enabling students to be the best future professionals they can be.
Students, supervisors, and practice and academic assessors can all watch the animation to help familiarise themselves with our standards and how they support education, training and care.
If your practice is interested in taking student nurses and doesn’t already please get in touch with Deb Smith, the HNY training hub’s Practice Learning Facilitator and Lead Assessor, who will be able to support you with this: debra.smith8@nhs.net – information can also be found here: Student Nurses in General Practice
