NHS England funds access to software that supports functional skills learning (until March 2027)

NHS England are providing access to bksb which is a software that supports functional skills learning and can help prepare employees who would like to undertake the function skills qualification.

How do I access bksb?

If your organisation already uses bksb and Open Awards through the previous NHSE funded contract you do not need to do anything differently, please continue to book exams and register learners on bksb as you already do.

However, if your organisation is new to accessing these resources please follow the below steps:

Step 1: Identify the member of staff who will be the point of contact for bksb

Step 2: Identify the learners who will use this product.

We don’t need to know names, but we ask that you give bksb an initial number of learners. Please only ask for the number you plan to use, as the number of users is limited, and we want as many people as possible to be able to access.

Step 3: Enrol your learners

Ask your nominated staff member to email: mailto:hee@bksb.co.uk to start the process and enrol learners.

Step 4: Complete and book your exam
