Applications for potential host practices to express their interest for the 2025/6 cohort of the Y&H Post-CCT GP Trailblazer fellowship (to start 3/10/2025) are now open until 5th June 2025.
The investment in primary care set out in the GP Forward View includes funding for post-CCT Fellowships. These are innovative posts available for GPs in their first 5 years after qualification.
The Post-CCT GP Trailblazer fellowship, as a health equity based leadership fellowship is one which ICBs, Trusts, Federations and GP Practices can apply for funding for GP roles that intend to use the programme to help reduce health inequalities.
The funding is available to practices to help meet the costs of 2 sessions per week of protected study / professional development time (up to £22,567) for a maximum of 12 months. Fellows can apply for a limited budget to support additional training and projects, and to cover travel- this amount is still to be determined. In past years, the combined amount for this has been between £500 and £1250 per fellow.
In Yorkshire and Humber, practices whose populations experience high levels of socioeconomic deprivation or those serving marginalised groups can apply for our innovative and exciting Trailblazer scheme, with a fantastic programme of education and support.
The organisation hosting the fellowship will be expected to advertise the posts, appoint to the posts and meet the cost of employing the trainee for the remaining sessions.
