DPP Support: Support the Future of Prescribing – Become a DPP or Find One Today

Shared on behalf of West Yorkshire Training Hub for all Yorkshire & Humber Areas

DPP Support: Support the Future of Prescribing – Become a DPP or Find One Today

Are you a prescriber looking to contribute to the development of prescribing professions?

Please see the linked poster here for more information

Becoming a Designated Prescribing Practitioner (DPP) offers a unique opportunity to support the next generation of prescribers while enhancing your own professional development and leadership skills. As the demand for independent prescribers in healthcare grows, so too does the need for experienced DPPs to guide trainees through their prescribing journey. At the same time, for those preparing to undertake their independent prescribing (IP) training, finding a suitable DPP can be a significant barrier. That’s where DPP Support comes in.

This NHS England supported directory of DPPs is a dedicated platform designed to:

¨ Support prescribers interested in becoming DPPs.

¨ Connect IP trainees with experienced prescribers.

¨ Promote safe, effective supervision and high-quality prescribing education.

Whether you’re ready to take on the DPP role or seeking a DPP to support your IP training, DPP Support makes it easier to take the next step. Visit www.dppsupport.co.uk to find out more, access resources, and register your interest.

Together, we can build a stronger, more confident prescribing workforce. See how DPP Support works HERE

Free CPD Courses for Health and Care Professionals Supporting People with Parkinson’s

Shared on behalf of Parkinson’s UK

Did you know that Parkinson’s UK offers free Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses for health and care professionals through the Parkinson’s UK Excellence Network? Our Education team helps professionals enhance their skills and knowledge to improve outcomes for those they support. Learners often tell us how our courses have positively influenced their work — from better managing time-critical medication in care homes to designing exercise sessions tailored to people with Parkinson’s.

We’ve recently made two key improvements to make accessing our learning even easier:

  1. The Foundation Programme (FP)– a new suite of online courses covering essential topics such as symptoms, medication, and treatments. Developed with input from people living with Parkinson’s, the FP also includes modules on effective communication and guidance on the services, support, and resources available through Parkinson’s UK and the Excellence Network.  https://www.parkinsons.org.uk/professionals/foundation-programme
  2. An upgraded Knowing Parkinson’s (KP) platform– which now makes it simpler to register, navigate, and access all of our CPD resources in one place.

At Parkinson’s UK, we’re committed to empowering professionals with the knowledge and confidence needed to deliver excellent care. With the launch of the Foundation Programme and the improved KP platform, we’ve made it easier than ever to access free, high-quality education.

NEY Advance Practice Impact Review - Call for Case Studies

Shared on behalf of the NEY Advanced Practice Faculty

As part of celebrating advanced practice week the NEY Faculty is launching an initiative to source, gather together and champion all the fantastic work that you are doing in your wide variety of roles and settings. We are seeking to capture examples of how advanced practice is making an impact and benefitting service users, the workforce, cost efficiency and / or health equity. By collating examples of the innovative and inspiring ways you are creating a difference, we are hoping to establish a repository of evidence that can support building business cases and demonstrate value and necessity, along with informing future workforce planning.

But first and foremost, we need to ask you to provide us with exemplary examples of practice and significant contributions it makes! Please feel free to share across your organisation.

We have provided a template for ease of completion and would be grateful if you could fill this in and return it to helen.jennings10@nhs.net by Friday 5th December.

We are excited to be bringing together an array of regional evidence and look forward to being able to share our discoveries with you in the near future in order to help consolidate and develop advanced practice across the North East and Yorkshire.

Many thanks,

North East and Yorkshire Faculty for Advancing Practice
