We are pleased to announce the launch of the West Yorkshire Learner Passport!
This learner-owned document was developed in response to feedback from learners and the staff who support them across the West Yorkshire region. Shaped by extensive engagement with universities, educators, and learners, the Passport empowers individuals to share information about themselves. It provides a consistent approach that promotes inclusion and helps placement teams create supportive, responsive environments where all learners can thrive.
Please find some key information to support the launch:
The Learner Passport and Support Guidance documents can be accessed here – West Yorkshire ICB Placement Strategy :: West Yorkshire Health & Care Partnership . Please scroll to the bottom of the page to find the Learner Passport information. Download both documents, and if helpful, consider uploading them to a central location within your organisation for easy access. Copies of both documents are also attached to this email.
In addition, the ICB will be running a series of 30-minute drop-in sessions during the three weeks following the launch. These sessions will introduce the Learner Passport and outline how it can be used in practice. They are open to all staff involved in supporting learners on placement.
Sessions will run on the following dates/times:
- Friday 10th October, 12:00–12:30 – Join the meeting now
- Wednesday 15th October, 11:30–12:00 Join the meeting now
- Monday 20th October, 13:00–13:30 Join the meeting now
Please note, you only need to attend one session, as each will follow the same format. If you are unable to join a live session, a short, recorded presentation will be made available at a later date.
We encourage you to familiarise yourself with the Learner Passport and supporting resources, and to share this information with colleagues across your organisation. We recognise that embedding the Passport will take time, and learners will begin using it gradually. These resources are designed to support a smooth and consistent implementation across the region.
Thank you for your support in raising awareness of the Learner Passport and for helping us create a more inclusive placement experience for all learners.
