Free Tech Abuse Training for Healthcare Professionals

Refuge’s specialist Technology Facilitated Abuse and Economic Empowerment team delivered a free 1-hour training (plus 15-minute Q&A) for healthcare professionals in October. This was designed to order to improve healthcare responses to tech abuse. Following the training, 100% of respondents said they felt more confident identifying technology facilitated abuse and understanding how it may present in clinical settings.
Due to the success of the event, we have released another date. Tickets remain free for all healthcare professionals and can be purchased via the below link. I have also included the training details below.

Thursday 9th April: 10-11.15am
Online (via Teams) – free tickets to be purchased via Eventbrite. Attendees who purchase free tickets would need to register with their NHS email. Once purchased attendee’s will be given the event joining information.
Training is 1 hour long with optional 15-minute Q&A at the end. It is suitable for any professional working in healthcare role or healthcare setting..
Training Summary
This 1-hour webinar provides healthcare professionals with an essential introduction to the growing risk of technology-facilitated abuse (TFA). Designed specifically for those working in healthcare, the session will explore how TFA can present in clinicals settings, including misuse of everyday technology, assistive technology and the NHS app. Delivered by Refuge’s specialist Technology Facilitated Abuse and Economic Empowerment team, this webinar will highlight the intersecting barriers faced by survivors from global majority backgrounds and survivors with disabilities. These insights will deepen clinicians understanding of how technology facilitated abuse impacts survivors of domestic abuse and their children.
