First Contact Practitioner NHSE Funded Programme –
Paramedic or Physiotherapy (Musculoskeletal)
This postgraduate certificate aims to provide a bespoke programme for registered paramedics or physiotherapists to advance their knowledge, understanding and skills in order to practice as a First Contact Practitioner in the primary care setting.
Start date: September 2026 and January 2027
Programme length: Part-time, 1 year
Delivery: Online
Fees: Funding is available from NHS England for students residing in England.

A strength of this programme is the ability to apply for accreditation of prior learning (APL) into the MSc Advanced Clinical Practice at the University of Cumbria.
