Survey: Pharmacy Readiness for ExPAnded Roles & Enhanced care (PREPARE)
Shared on behalf of the NHSE School of Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation North East and Yorkshire
The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) circulated an email to all registrants on Wednesday 14 January 2026 titled “Survey on pharmacy workforce readiness to deliver a range of clinical health services”. This email was sent on behalf of the Centre for Pharmacy Workforce Studies at the University of Manchester, which is conducting research commissioned by NHS England Workforce, Training and Education (WT&E).
The survey invites pharmacists and pharmacy technicians working in all sectors to share their views on current policy changes within pharmacy, evolving professional roles, and the associated education and training requirements. The aim of the study is to explore how pharmacists and pharmacy technicians feel about the increasingly clinical focus of the profession, including how confident, supported, and prepared they feel to undertake these roles. Findings from the survey will inform NHS England’s future workforce planning, education, and training support.
The survey should take approximately 10 minutes to complete and closes on Friday 13 February 2026.
