Join South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service and Fiona Reid (dermatology nurse consultant) as we look at the role emollients play in managing a diverse range of skin conditions. In this session we will consider the importance of emollients and how we can educate patients to manage their own skin conditions. Following the inquest into the death of a Rotherham man where emollients were found to be a possible contributing factor to the fire, we will be reviewing our prescribing through the lens of patient education and safety.
This session will increase your confidence in managing common skin conditions, educating patients on the role emollients play in skin management and give top tips for conversations regarding fire risks when using emollients.
Suitable for all clinicians who prescribe and manage skin – including health visitors, district nurses, community pharmacists, practice nurses and advance practitioners.
Attendance will provide 1 hour of CPD
Session kindly sponsored by Aspire – all information is in keeping with local formularies.
