The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) advocate that all newly qualified Nurses and Nursing Associates should receive preceptorship within their first-year post-registration or when transitioning into a different place of work.
The objectives of preceptorship are to welcome and integrate newly registered professionals into General Practice, help them grow in confidence and ultimately be retained within the team.
This policy provides a framework and set of common standards which will form the basis of implementing preceptorship.
The advent of ARRS roles within Primary Care Networks (PCNs) brought with it a multi-professional team all with varying educational standards, professional regulation and supervision requirements.
This document is intended to simplify understanding each of these roles at a quick glance.
