Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) play a key role in delivering excellent patient care within general practice, and therefore developing and retaining those workers is key to developing a workforce that can meet the future needs of the NHS.

We are extremely pleased to announce that we are currently offering a fully funded HCA Clinical Training Programme, allowing a total of 30 HCAs (2 x cohorts of 15) from across West Yorkshire to develop their clinical skills, progress their careers and play a key role in their GP practice/PCN.

The programme consists of the following eight training sessions, which are fully funded and facilitated by the West Yorkshire Primary Care Workforce and Training Hub, and delivered face to face at The Ridge Medical Practice in Bradford:

  1. Introduction to BP & Pulse Measurement
  2. Wound Care
  3. Motivational Interviewing
  4. Introduction to QOF
  5. Diabetic Foots Checks / Stock, Storage & Specimens / Other Basic Tests
